Coach Bio:
Lawrence Honma

USSF “E” License
USSF Grade 8 Referee
Coerver Coaching Diploma

While Lawrence played high school soccer, in college, he opted to play in the college’s intramural program.  However, he spent plenty of time on the pitch, albeit focusing on rugby.  And when not playing for his college side, he was selected to play for representative sides such as the Pelicans (Northern CA Collegiate All-Stars), Grizzlies (Pacific Coast Collegiate All-Stars), as well as, Collegiate All-Americans.  After college, Lawrence participated in adult soccer leagues, as well as, Division 2 club rugby in Central and Southern California.

He started coaching soccer to stay involved with his children, and is passionate about his players performing at their best and mastering the fundamentals.  He believes that soccer is a great vehicle for learning important life skills such as accountability, work ethic, and respect.  And while winning is nice, he feels that player/individual development and growth are more important, and Lawrence takes pride in seeing his players develop over the course of the season, and not just on the soccer pitch, but also in the classroom and in other settings.  He attributes the teams recent successes to dedication and hard work put forth by each and every player, and while he demands the best from his players, they also have to have fun.
